- Immersion heater not heating — a failed heating element or a faulty thermostat is the most frequent cause. The cylinder fills with cold water and the element simply stops doing its job.

We work on vented (open-vented) cylinders with a header tank as well as unvented (mains-pressure) cylinders. Unvented cylinder work is carried out only by engineers holding the appropriate G3 qualification, so you can be confident the repair meets current Building Regulations.

- Switch off the immersion heater at the wall isolator immediately if the cylinder is leaking.
- Turn off the cold-water supply to the cylinder — usually a service valve on the cold feed pipe above or beside the tank.
- Place towels or a container under any dripping joint to protect floors and ceilings below.
